Hypertension-Eitiology of Hypertension
The cause of hypertension is unknown in most cases. It is thought to be a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Some of the risk factors for hypertension include:
Age: Hypertension is more common in older adults.
Family history: If you have a family history of hypertension, you are more likely to develop it yourself.
Obesity: Being overweight or obese is a major risk factor for hypertension.
Physical inactivity: People who are physically inactive are more likely to develop hypertension.
